Managing Chronic Pain & Illness

Dealing with chronic pain or a healthcare crisis can feel like an uphill battle, often leaving you overwhelmed and exhausted. It’s important to acknowledge that therapy doesn’t make pain or illness disappear, but it can be a guiding light on your journey toward self-care, resilience, and self-discovery. In therapy, we acknowledge the emotional distress and grief that accompanies pain and illness.  We can also discover that pain and illness can be more than adversaries; sometimes they’re messengers, communicating important insights about what your body needs and how to prioritize your well-being. Rather than seeking to eliminate pain entirely, our focus is on helping you create space to listen to your body’s signals and nurturing the mind-body connection. Our collaborative work is about empowering you to care for yourself holistically. Together, we develop tools that include cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, pacing, resource management, and relaxation techniques. These tools enable you to find your strength within so you can prioritize self-care, self-discovery,  and respond effectively to your body’s signals.
